Malta,

I've been a 606 (why this number?) reader for quite some time now, but i've decided to adopt a more voyuerish behavior. Enjoying reading your posts, without really writing any.
Not joking, you english really do have a special kind of humor. (In what other country with you be able to read something like the guardian's fiver?)
Anyway, the objective of my post is football, and in particular Ricardo Carvalho.
You guys now have quite large portuguese contingent (which for us exponentially increases our interest in chelsea) but you seem to UNDERRATE the best of them all. Ricardo "the great" Carvalho.
Carvalho is the best portuguese central defender ever (which might not say much) and is clearly one of the best, if not the, in the world.
Yet, you never include him in your team, This, my friends, is a greater crime than stealing Munch's "scream"
Cheers [Complain about this post]

I think you may be misunderstanding something . The teams we post for the chelsea challenge is what we think will be chosen , not neccessarily our wish . As for Carvalho , he has looked good in the two games he has started but will need time to adapt to England and to form a partnership with JT . Gallas has that advantage over him for now . Welcome to the board anyway [Complain about this post]
re: Carvalho Maria Cleary - 152nd post - 3 Sep 2004 10:25 Carvalho may have been the best in his country but he needs to adapt to the premiership and the style of football that is played in this league. He will get games but needs time to adapt and once he has im sure you will see Ricardo 'the great' Carvalho in most of our teams! :) [Complain about this post]
re: Carvalho Tattered Treble - 3054th post - 3 Sep 2004 10:26 What do you mean?
We have played 4 league games so far this season and he has played 3 of them
Or do you mean people on this board don't put him in their teams?
Personally I think he was the best buy of the Portuguese players we picked up, even at £20m [Complain about this post]
re: Carvalho Phil McKraken - 589th post - 3 Sep 2004 10:26 I think you mean "Less voyueristic" as you have just posted! I think all Chelsea fans rate Carvalho. Huth is popular (mainly because of a thunderous shot!) but I am of the opinion he is not ready for the 1st team. For this reason I am delighted to have RC. Eventually he may be 1st choice, but has to depose either Terry (Captain) or Gallas (French international). Neither are too shabby! [Complain about this post]
re: Carvalho Jimmys Blues - 620th post - 3 Sep 2004 10:29 Welcome Bernardo,at the moment Terry and Gallas would appear to be first choice because they've been playing together for a few years now. RC needs to settle however JM still has used him a couple of times and i think he selects his centre backs on the strength of the opposition. [Complain about this post]
re: Carvalho Out of the Blue - 458th post - 3 Sep 2004 10:29 carvalho has to prove himself in the eyes of many chelsea fans, as gallas and terry formed a formidable partnership last season. However, most of us beleive (i think) that given the time to adapt to the EPL, he will be good for us and will be used a lot by JM. Oh and welcome on board! [Complain about this post]
re: Carvalho Lifelong Blue - 199th post - 3 Sep 2004 10:42 I think 606 came from the football discussion show that originated on BBC Radio Five, and started at 18.06 on Saturday after the day's football.
More importantly I think Carvalho will become one of the best central defenders in the Premiership. [Complain about this post]
